Keeping pace with cutting-edge technology is a challenge for most governance, audit, risk and information security professionals. The technology landscape and, therefore, the risk landscape are constantly evolving. A new column in the ISACA® Journal, The Bleeding Edge, is aimed at professionals and practitioners who are looking for information on all aspects of emerging technologies, both thought leadership and practical use content on implementing emerging technology solutions enterprisewide, managing emerging technology-related risk, and leveraging the opportunities associated with new technologies. The goal of this column is to provide readers with a better understanding of emerging technologies and practical knowledge on emerging technologies applications, how to help implementation efforts succeed, how to measure the return on emerging technology resource investments and how to obtain C-suite buy-in for emerging technology solutions.

The column is authored by Dustin Brewer, CSX-P, CEH, CHFI, CIW-WSA, CLNP, CSIS, ECES, SSCP, who, as ISACA’s principal futurist, explores and produces content for the ISACA® community on the utilization benefits and possible threats posed by emerging technologies to current infrastructure.
